Bodywork Therapy is now bringing fitness closer to you, with a range of fun and exciting fitness classes for a range of abilities. Please contact us for more information or to make a booking.

What's Available?

  • Pole Fitness 6 week beginner's course starts Wednesday 25th January .

    Pole fitness is now recognised as one of the fastest growing exercise disciplines. Whilst having fun you’re toning the body, strengthening core muscles and improving co-ordination, agility and flexibility. The course is made up of six weekly 1.5- 2 hour sessions. I take a maximum of 6 people per course (2 sharing a pole) this gives you maximum pole time with some rest time and lots of individual instruction.

    What to expect:

    In order to sign up to the course, it is expected that you have experienced a taster to ensure that you are aware of what Pole Fitness involves. On arrival, the session will start with a 10 minute aerobic warm up to mobilise the joins and prepare the muscles for the core exercise. The next 40 minutes will be spent learning individual pole moves, each week you will be shown new moves to practice. The next 30 minutes, a block from the dance routine will be demonstrated for you to practice and learn. You will learn 1 routine per course and there are 4 blocks per routine, so weeks 5 and 6 will be spent practicing the entire routine. On week 6, we dress up and have fun, this is our last night and our party night. During this session you can record your dance routine and take that home as your momento and to show your friends and family. The last 10 minutes of each session is spent cooling down and stretching out to minimise aches and pains the following day.

    On each night please wear shorts (preferrably) or leggings, T-shirt and trainers, do not apply oils, creams or lotions on your body and bring plenty of water and a towel.

    If you have any injuries, have just had a baby or an operation please seek advice from a doctor before participating in this exercise, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are of reasonable health to take part in this exercise.
